Atlantic Immigration Program

The AIP is a fast-track immigration program that allows employers in Canada’s Atlantic provinces, including Nova Scotia, to hire foreign workers. If you get a job offer through the AIP, you can get permanent residency faster.

Businesses need to be established and operating in Nova Scotia, provide a full-time, non-seasonal job offer that meets provincial wage standards, and assist the employee and their family with the settlement process.

First, businesses must be designated by the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration. Once designated, businesses can recruit and extend job offers to eligible foreign workers or international graduates. The employee then applies for permanent residence. Processing times are typically quicker than other programs.
